Excellent and Comfortable Stay

We were very pleased with the excellent service at the hotel. The stay was faultless. The room was cheerful, quite spacious, very clean and welcoming.

The breakfast room was light and well furnished, the service there was excellent and the choice of food very good indeed.

The location of the hotel was very satisfactory being a few miles only from Lyme Regis. There was no noise from the surrounding area.

All in all a very happy stay and we would certainly stay there again should the opportunity arises in the future.

Stay Here – it’s Wonderful!

We booked this for one night as a stopover for an early start business trip. Dorothy was very welcoming and a delightful lady. The room was very clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable.

We ate in the hotel for both evening and breakfast, and totally disagree with ‘Globalfoodcriticpro’! The food was hot and delicious. They were very considerate of dietary requirements as we needed Gluten Free and the chef sent a sample of an alternative sauce for us to try.

We have already highly recommended Swallows Eaves and would not hesitate to stay there again!

Thank you Dorothy and team.

A Very Good Choice!

Arriving on one of the coldest March days for years – “Swallows Eaves” was a very good choice – warm friendly and welcoming. The high standard of accommodation and cuisine was appreciated. We will try to organise better weather next time – to match the venue!

Home from Home – what more can we say!

Just to have to say how pleased we were at this venue, beautiful rooms, spotlessly clean, couldn’t be made more welcome, have to say home from home! Stayed here in March whilst on weekend break with our daughter and fiancee, ideally placed if you’re visiting nearby Lyme Regis or in fact as we were, booked in for a Sunday at River Cottage, would definitely go back!

A Relaxed Night

I stayed in the Swallows Eaves Hotel for just one night prior to taking part in the annual Grizzly Run held in Seaton – I wanted a relaxed evening and a good night’s sleep ready for the run next day. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The en-suite was also clean, the shower had good pressure which is a rare thing in a lot of hotels. I was leaving early next morning about 7.30am and was unable attend breakfast, the proprietor ask if I would like a tray made up of breakfast cereal, fresh orange drink and some fruit which I thought was a nice gesture.

I would book again with no hesitation.

Weekend Away

A quick trip to Devon to see friends and we stayed at Swallows Eaves for the first time andĀ receivedĀ a warm welcome from the friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble, a lovely room, all refurbished recently. We didn’t try the evening menu but the breakfasts were excellent. Would be happy to stay there again, easy access to lots of local places of interest.

Perfect for a Relaxing Weekend!

On a chilly March weekend we arrived to a warm welcome and a warm hotel. We had booked a Daffodil Break after reading other Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. This may be a small hotel but it is excellently run, the refurbished bedrooms are light, well equipped and have been cleverly thought out to make them all en suite. The beds were comfortable and the soft, fluffy towels lived up to their description, something we have not often found elsewhere. Colour schemes and styles throughout the hotel contribute to the feeling of gentle relaxation, many small touches such a locally made biscuits and a wide choice of teabag varieties combine to make guests feel special and well cared for.

The chef creates attractive modern food and was happy to make different veggie alternatives for this reviewer, remember to save room for his desserts, all home made and delicious. Trouble is his home made bread at the beginning of the dinner is wonderful too, tough choices hey?

Service was of a high standard, friendly and professional, Dorothy nurtures a good team spirit in her staff team and makes considerable personal effort to ensure that her guests’ stay is excellently memorable. We hope that other travellers too will return home after a wonderful stay.

Weekend Away

My Wife and I decided to have a weekend away in early February. We have stayed in the Lyme Regis area many times, but this was our first time at Swallow Eaves. What a wonderful little hotel this is. Excellent room (no.5), excellent food and friendly staff. We will be back.

Newly renovated, comfortable but a little impersonal

This is a good little hotel within easy reach of the coast and the Axe Estuary. Friendly and helpful staff provide clean, comfortable accommodation and a good breakfast. The rooms just a lack something to make them pretty and homely rather than comfortable and functional.
